Among the invited guests are Cuyahoga County Council President C. Ellen Connally, City of Cleveland Council President Martin Sweeney, Ward 3 City Councilman Joe Cimperman and local healthcare leaders. The event will be emceed by Jim Bennett, senior vice president, MMPI. The symbolic steel beam in the “Topping Out” ceremony will be adorned with an evergreen tree symbolizing growth and good luck, and the U.S. flag, along with signatures from ironworkers and other construction crews. The use of a U.S. flag and tree on the steel beam is an American iron worker tradition that dates back to the beginning of the last century.
