Underground Walkway Now Open to the Public

CLEVELAND- Today, Cuyahoga County officially opened the Huntington Park Garage (HPG) underground walkway leading to the Huntington Convention Center of Cleveland, Downtown Cleveland Hilton Hotel, and the Global Center for Health Innovation. In addition to the tunnel opening, the County completed renovations to the Huntington Park Garage structure.

Along with major structural improvements the $25.2 million garage renovation project included the following:
  • ADA accessible elevator upgrades which include connection to the Cuyahoga County Courthouse
  • Additional parking spaces
  • Automated payment systems
  • Life/Safety Improvements (emergency phones, cameras, & new fire suppression system)

“The Huntington Park Garage renovations represent a major downtown improvement to the public for access to justice and other public facilities in both capacity and connectivity. Of note, the County’s purchase of the Cleveland Police Headquarters allowed us to relocate County employees out of Huntington park Garage and increase parking spaces available to the public,”
said Michael Dever, Director of Public Works, Cuyahoga County.
