Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish and County Council President Dan Brady Issue Statement Regarding Hiring of Medical Staff
As we work with the MetroHealth System to transition medical care in the Cuyahoga County Jail System, we are assuring that all medical staff currently working in the jails find employment.
MetroHealth has hired a significant percentage of the current staff, in fact 37 of the 49 County employees in the medical unit who applied for positions at Metro have been offered employment with the MetroHealth System.
The remaining employees who either didn’t get hired by Metro or chose not to apply to Metro are going to be offered employment at the County.
In addition, any of the remaining employees who choose not to stay with the County will be offered outplacement services.
We are in the process of negotiating a significant retention and severance package for ALL medical staff regardless of whether they are hired by Metro, the County or even another employer.
We are strong supporters of collective bargaining and the rights of employees and we are grateful to each and every one of our medical staff who has worked diligently throughout our transition process.
