Contact: Christopher Harris, (216) 443-7157

A conversation about reentry obstacles and employment

CLEVELAND – Cuyahoga County Regional Director of Corrections, Kenneth Mills, along with the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Department will host a free lunch discussion on Sunday, July 30th from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the Euclid City Jail (545 E. 222nd Street, Cleveland, OH 44123). The lunch discussion is one of the many lunch discussions taking place during The Cleveland Foundations’ “Common Ground” event.

“It’s important that we continue to equip our reentry population with skills and programs to help them succeed as they re-enter society,” said County Executive Armond Budish. “Our Common Ground table is an excellent opportunity for residents to gather and share information on reentry issues.”

The Sheriff’s Department will host 4 tables (8 seats per table) with a conversation focused on the various barriers and obstacles pertaining to successful reentry and employment. One former and one current inmate will be present at each table to help lead the discussion. Lunch will be provided by the Comprehensive Reentry Services’ resident culinary staff. The Comprehensive Reentry Services Program provides training, such as culinary skills, to incarcerated residents so they can pursue a career once they are released. The menu will include the following:

  • Summer Side Salad (with an orange vinaigrette)
  • Trio-Meat-Loaf (with a light espagnole mushroom sauce)
  • Rice Pilaf
  • Spinach Asparagus Delight
  • Watermelon Mojito Mocktail with mint
  • Fresh Fruit Tart Cake
  • Stuffed Acorn Squash

If you’d like to secure a spot at the table, registration is required. To register, please visit: http://theclevelandfoundation.cmail19.com/t/ViewEmail/i/C0CE18CCA2CBACCA2540EF23F30FEDED
