FITZGERALD TO DISCUSS ANTI-POACHING PROPOSAL

CLEVELAND - Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald will meet with the  media at 11:45 a.m. today to discuss a cooperative agreement he is proposing to discourage the "poaching" of employers by local governments in Cuyahoga County.

Ed FitzGerald is putting forward a "Cuyahoga County Anti-Poaching Protocol." He will discuss the proposal with area mayors Thursday morning. Following that meeting, FitzGerald will discuss his plan with the media at 11:45 a.m. in the fourth-floor of the County Administration Building, 1219 Ontario St., in Cleveland.

The proposal is another step in encouraging Cuyahoga County communities to work together. “We can't stop businesses from deciding to move from one community to another,” FitzGerald said. “But we can agree that we are better off working together to attract jobs from outside the region, instead of poaching jobs from our immediate neighbors."
