CLEVELAND--Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish issued the following statement:

“I am happy to hear of the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to reject the bid to add a citizenship question to the 2020 Census questionnaire. The addition of this question would most definitely discourage immigrants from responding and therefore make our population count less accurate. Our ultimate goal is to count everyone in Cuyahoga County so that vital federal programs can receive appropriate funding and so we can maintain the appropriate number of seats in Congress. We want to make all residents feel comfortable filling out the census questionnaire, and this ruling reflects our continued efforts to count everyone that has made a home in Cuyahoga County.”
