County Executive to Announce $1.1 Million in Energy Efficiency Grants to Local Municipalities

CUYAHOGA COUNTY – Cuyahoga County Executive Ed FitzGerald will announce the grant award recipients of more than $1.1 Million in Municipal Energy Program (MEP) Grants. The grants will allow local communities to make energy efficiency upgrades and improvements. The range of projects includes installation of LED traffic signals and infrastructure lighting replacements; interior and exterior lighting retrofits, HVAC improvements to reduce heating and cooling costs and replacements of windows, roofs and boilers. The grants were funded with Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant funds. The first year savings is estimated at $242,000.
