FitzGerald, Local Legislators, Law Enforcement Work Against Foreclosure Scams

CLEVELAND – In conjunction with National Homeownership Month, County Executive Ed FitzGerald, State Representative Mike Foley, Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court Judge Nancy Fuerst, and representatives from the Cuyahoga County Sherriff’s Office, County Council and local counseling agencies will hold a press conference to warn residents about foreclosure scams specifically, foreclosure “road shows” and other foreclosure scams that promise to solve their foreclosure problems in one day. Ms. Kimberly Ford, an elderly resident of the City of Cleveland, was a victim of a similar foreclosure scam and will talk about her experience.
Ms. Ford also received assistance from ESOP, a local counseling agency. Other
local agencies who can help include Neighborhood Housing Services of Greater
Cleveland, Cleveland Housing Network, Lutheran Metropolitan Ministries, Home
Repair Resource Center, and Community Housing Services. These agencies are
hosting FREE foreclosure prevention outreach events throughout the month of
