Cuyahoga County Celebrates 2012 National Preparedness Month

CLEVELAND – In recognition of September’s designation as National Preparedness Month, the Cuyahoga County Office of Emergency Management will team up with the Independence Fire Department, the Independence Police Department and the Independence City Schools to conduct the 2012 Cuyahoga County National Preparedness Day School Event on Thursday, September 20, at Independence Middle School, in Independence, Ohio.

More than 600 elementary and middle school students will meet emergency management, law enforcement, public health and public safety professionals from county and city agencies to hear suggestions about staying healthy and how to prepare for unexpected disasters and emergencies.

The Cuyahoga County Office of Emergency Management (CCOEM) is dedicated to protecting lives, property, the environment, and the economy through effective preparedness, mitigation, and disaster response. For more information about CCOEM, visit www.publicsafety.cuyahogacounty.us.
