Cuyahoga County Department of Public Safety Responds With Vehicle Donation

CLEVELAND-
Cuyahoga County has provided East Cleveland with an ambulance to assist the City after receiving an emergency request from the City recently. East Cleveland’s ambulances were out of commission and the City had no available ambulance to respond to citizens in distress.
Mayor Ed Kraus of the City of Solon had donated an ambulance to the County, which the Director of Public Safety, Brandy Carney was able to then provide to East Cleveland. The vehicle is now a permanent part of the East Cleveland Fire Department.

One of the County’s main goals is to match community needs with available resources. Through working together over time, both Solon and East Cleveland knew to contact us, and we were able to connect an asset with a need,” said Director of Public Safety Brandy Carney.

“We strive to provide resources throughout the county where needed.”

said Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish.East Cleveland continues to face challenges and we were able to alleviate some of the strain. Whether it is the coordination of services at the Arco dump, saving the senior center, or helping with the ambulance, we are doing all we can for the citizens of East Cleveland. It is critical to me that all our residents know we are helping them, no matter the zip code.”
