Cuyahoga County Office of Emergency Management and the National Weather Service (NWS) presents SKYWARN Storm Spotter Training

CLEVELAND – The National Weather Service (NWS) Cleveland Office will present their NWS SKYWARN weather observer training on Thursday, April 4, 2013 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the Mayfield Village Civic Center in Mayfield Village, Ohio.

This training will prepare citizens and public safety officials to recognize and report severe weather.

Citizens, Emergency Services Officials, Amateur Radio Operators

What:
2013 National Weather Service (NWS) Skywarn Storm Spotter training

When:
Thursday April 4, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Where:
Mayfield Village Civic Center
6622 Wilson Mills Rd Cleveland, OH 44143

Why:
To teach the basics of weather spotting techniques, thunderstorm development, fundamentals of storm structure, identification of potential severe weather features, how to recognize tornados, information to report and how to report it, and basic severe weather safety tips.

How:
Pre-registration is not required. Seating is limited.
